Two weeks without Sunday Post. I'm such a slow blogger :|
I had a fantastic holiday two weeks ago with my mother and little sister. We had four day trip around Singapore, visited so much public places which I hadn't been to on last November and finally went to Universal Studios, even though I didn't try all the attractions, since it was too nerve-wrecking, I couldn't stand it.

Last Two Weeks on the Blog

A week ago, I was nominated for Liebster Award by Steph from I Am Simply A Book Drunkard. I would like to thank you again to her on this recap post. I have paid it forward by nominating another fabulous bloggers. You can check the complete list here.

A few weeks ago, I tried to sell my Fifty Shades of Grey at a second-hand bookshop, but they only offered around USD0.68 for maximum. I was a bit disappointed since I bought the book at price USD8.99 and it had not even been a month old at that time and still in a very good condition. They reasoned that condition of the book was not only the factor, but the quality of the story affects so much too. Oh well, I couldn't even argue at that point.

College is gonna started again tomorrow.  I really hope for a better grade this semester, since the last one was not good enough for me. It's very likely that my reading will be even much slower than before, so the blogging will be affected as well. But I hope it's not too significant.

Hope everyone's gonna have a good week and happy reading!

  1. I don't always do a sunday wrap-up either, so don't feel too bad! ;) Sometimes they just don't fit in, right?! I hope you have a good term in college. I can totally understand reading taking a backburner for that. GOOD LUCK for good grades!

    1. Thank you for the comment, Cait. Yes, indeed. I just hope I can do fast read and thus blog more often. I'm not a native English speaker. I need like one and a half days at the quickest to finish a novel. My reading is really slow. I always need computer or laptop in front of me whenever I read, since there are so many sophisticated vocabularies I still don't understand. And I don't want to just skip that, because one of the reasons I choose to read the English one is that I want to improve my own terrible English skills. Like today, I only managed to read five pages, that's so bad ;'(

Oh, no. I really hope I didn't make you discouraged for the book! It was worth giving a try I think.

Hope you enjoy your week too!

  5. Sounds like you had a fun holiday!
I don't think quality of story is somethign you can objectively measure, I mean just because someone doesn't like a book doesn't mean no one else will. And for a book in a good condition it sounds weird they offered such a low price. I've read the first two Fifty shades books and thought they where enjoyable.

Good luck with your grades and college!

Yes, I second to that. I think they can't run a secondhand bookshop business which measures a book subjectively, since it will not be fair in any way. Every book has its own readers indeed. I respect to those who like Fifty Shades books.

  6. Congrats on the nomination!
Also, that really unfortunate about the 50 shades (but a little funny...though I would have guess that they offered you so little b/c so many people are trying to get rid of their copy, rather than due to the "quality" of the novel, haha).
And good luck with school! I don't start until next week, but already I think blogging will have to play second fiddle to school for a while.

Yes, indeed. They also said that they already bought too much used-50 shades books, so it a bit affected as well.
Enjoy your last week of holiday than! :)

  7. Good luck with this semester! That's too bad about the book value. I finally gave up on a used bookstore I used to go to here because their buy back polices just got beyond confusing. Congrats on the Liebster! Always fun! Have a fantastic week!

I actually never like to sell my books no matter how I dislike them. But 50 shades is a special case, since i really don't want my conservative parents catch me have that book, I'll get disowned from the family lol

  9. Well, I really can't argue on the 50 Shades pricing. :) I read the books, but I'm sure there is better erotica out there.

    1. Hi, Terri. Thanks for the comment. Me too. I couldn't argue when the counter girl said like that. 50 shades was my first erotica novel so i can't really judge the others.
